About
Hello and Welcome to Canny Granny’s Kitchen
Let us introduce ourselves. We are Liz and Chris just two old girls who have been around for a few decades and love to cook.
Chris is the queen of leftovers and Lord help anyone seen throwing out food, she can take the oldest fruit that most people throw away and turn it into a wonderful desert that the whole family will love check out her apple and banana pancakes, nothing is wasted she is also the master when it comes to freezing food , Liz loves cooking with spices and making more exotic dishes, the common bond between us is that we are both pensioners and have to stick with a budget between us we can put on a pretty mean meal for very little money.
Having been around a while we have become totally dismayed because so many families are eating pre prepared frozen meals that cost a fortune, are full of preservatives and additives have little nutritional value and taste like cardboard.
We know women are very busy and often overwhelmed these days, after all they not only run a home they work full time and do most of the child rearing as well, so buying takeaway or pre cooked meals seems like the easy option…but is it?
We hope that our blog will be able to provide you with fast alternative ways to cook healthy nutritious meals, not only in a short period of time but will also save you a heap of money you can spend on other things.
